Puzzle

Puzzle is a comedy, mystery drama that played from April to June 2008. Ishihara Satomi stars as Ayukawa Misako, an en english teacher who is supposedly in her 30s. However, Ishihara Satomi is actually not 22 yet! Anyway, basically the drama is about Ayukawa and three of her students solving mysteries one after another that have a reward or treasure attached to them. While watching the episodes you can try to solve the puzzles and mysteries on your own. Although they are often a little exaggerated (like no one would do something so complex in real life), it's still fun to see how the mysteries unfold.

The three students are Imamura Shinichi, Kanzaki Akira and Tsukamoto Yoshio, played by Yamamoto Yusuke, Kimura Ryo and Iwata Sayuri respectively. The students end up chasing after mysteries because they get asked by three female students from another school. Unable to resist the demands of the girls, they agree to try and solve the mysteries.

Ayukawa, who acts nicely around other people, is actually a very greedy person. She ends up following the students around on the mysteries because she wants the treasure or reward attached to it.

Overall I would rate this drama a 4 out of 5. The drama is very funny and the 10 episodes go by very quickly. Each episode involves a different mystery. This could seem to get repetetive, but the events in every episode are different enough to keep you interested. The beginning and ending of each episode is kind of similar, but still different and funny every time.

As for other elements. The drama was very well produced and the acting is very good. Ishihara Satomi plays her role very well and transitions between a good person and a greedy person very well. The other characters are also all very well played.

Anyway, I truly recommend this drama if you're looking for a comedy that is entertaining and doesn't get boring halfway. It probably won't be life changing, but it's fun from the beginning to the end, so watch it!
